Animal Welfare Representative

The government appointed Elias Zopfi as the new animal welfare representative on January 31, 2023.

The statutory duties of the animal welfare representatitve include

  • the participation in the further development of animal protection law,
  • the information of the public in animal protection matters,
  • the consultation of animal owners as well as
  • the general representation of interests for the protection of animals.
