Intellectual property law (trademark registration, copyright)

The Bureau of Intellectual Property within the Office of Economic Affairs deals with the protection of industrial property rights as well as copyright protection. In particular, the national and international registration of trademarks and designs as well as the administration of copyright and related intellectual property rights are located here. Furthermore, support and representation are provided at the EFTA/EEA level (EFTA Working Group on Intellectual Property ).

The Office of Economic Affairs is the supervisory authority over the collecting societies licensed in Liechtenstein (ProLitteris, SUISSIMAGE, SUISA and SWISSPERFORM). In addition to supervising the management of the collecting societies, the Office examines and approves the submitted tariffs and distribution regulations provided that they are appropriate in structure and in their individual provisions.
