Special education day school Schaan

The only special school in Liechtenstein is the Special Education Day School Schaan, known as part of the Heilpädagogisches Zentrum Schaan (HPZ).

The Foundation for Curative Education Assistance in Liechtenstein offers under the umbrella of the HPZ people with special needs of all ages promotion, accompaniment, care and various forms of therapy.

The Special Education Day School is a competence center for enhanced special education support and for enhanced language support.

• Learners with a significant speech or language problem in the normal gifted range are supported in the speech therapy kindergarten as well as in the introductory classes. The goal is enrollment in the regular school.
• Learners with a cognitive or multiple impairment and learners with a developmental impairment attend the basic level and remedial classes. Difficulties with regard to learning, working and social behavior are taken into account through increased special educational support in small learning groups. The goal is to achieve maximum independence.

In addition, the Heilpädagogisches Zentrum Schaan also offers outpatient pedagogical therapeutic measures (speech therapy, psychomotricity and early education).

The special school is recognized under public law and is funded by the state under a performance agreement with the government.
