Legal basis

The following laws are of key importance for e-government:

E-Government Act (E-GovG)

Delivery Act (ZustG)

Central Personal Register Act (ZPRG)

The E-GovG focuses on provisions for electronic communication, identification and authentication in electronic business transactions, and electronic record keeping.

In the ZustG, electronic delivery is regulated.

The ZPRG regulates not only the operation of the Central Personal Register but also the use of the Personal Identification Number (PEID) by other authorities.
