Flat-rate energy allowance (until December 31, 2023)

The state parliament, in its session of September 7, 2023, decided that the flat-rate energy allowance  should be continued until December 31, 2023. The new application form is linked at the bottom of this page.

Natural persons who are liable to pay under an electricity supply contract for a low-income household in Liechtenstein are entitled to the payment of an energy cost lump sum according to Art. 3 of the Energy Cost Lump Sum Act, if they live in this household.

You can submit the application until December 31, 2023 to the Office of Social Services. Applications submitted after Dec. 31, 2023, will not be processed.

The income threshold above which an application for a flat-rate energy allowance can be submitted has been raised from CHF 77,000 to CHF 100,000.

Households that were paid an energy cost allowance based on the legal situation until June 30, 2023, will receive an additional allowance in the amount of CHF 300 (maximum CHF 1,800) for each person living in the household at the time of application without having to submit an application. Applicants who were not entitled to an energy cost allowance due to exceeding the earning limit of CHF 77,000 can submit an application based on the updated requirements.
