In Switzerland, discussions are currently underway to introduce a new cadastral surveying data model. One of the key principles of the new data model will be its flexibility - hence the name DM.flex. This flexibility will be achieved by breaking down the current DM.01-AV-CH model into several small, independent data models. This will make it easier in the future to make adjustments here and there without having to change the entire model right away.

In the first version of DM.flex, the content of the data model (and thus the AV) is not changed significantly. Only the structure of the model is modified to make it ready for the first changes in the future. In fact, all changes must be made at the appropriate time. For this reason, such flexibility must first be enabled.

The introduction of this first version reflects this idea and allows the current data model to be restructured without changing the content. The content changes will likely be made in a year or two, once specific needs need to be addressed.
