School Psychology Service

The School Psychological Service (SPD) of the school board advises and supports children and adolescents, parents and guardians, teachers, school administrators and authorities in case of school difficulties, learning problems, behavioral difficulties or educational issues. If necessary, it carries out school psychological clarifications and helps in crisis situations that may arise in connection with kindergarten or school. In individual cases, it contributes to the optimization of developments, to adjustments in support and to changes in behavior. One area that is increasingly part of the SPD's remit is "Inclusion - A school for all".

In most cases, registration is done by the school in agreement with the parents. However, a direct registration by the parents is also possible. After a clarification the investigation results and the change strategies with the involved ones are discussed. The consent of the parents or legal guardians is required for school psychological assessments or therapies for a child or adolescent. The School Psychology Service cooperates with other institutions and specialized agencies and coordinates the measures. An important cooperation partner is the school social work. Access to school psychological services is free of charge.
