On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Minister Hubert Büchel made a working visit to Vienna. The Minister of Home Affairs, Economy, and Sports met with Johannes Hahn, President of the Austrian National Bank (OeNB), for working discussions. The exchange focused on current developments in the financial and economic sectors, strengthening European competitiveness and productivity, and financial market stability.

In addition, Hubert Büchel joined OeNB President Johannes Hahn on the panel at the Finance Talks event on the topic “Europe’s Future Needs Capital—Financial Markets as the Key to Growth.” The event was organized by Liechtenstein Finance and the Austrian daily newspaper “Die Presse” and attended by approximately 100 representatives of the Austrian financial center. During the event, the Minister of Economy contributed Liechtenstein’s perspective to the discussion on the importance of efficient financial markets for Europe’s competitiveness and future growth.
