On September 10, Minister Daniel Oehry traveled to Vienna on a working visit. During his visit, he met with Austrian Minister of Education Christoph Wiederkehr and Minister of Infrastructure Peter Hanke for bilateral working discussions.

The discussions with Minister of Education Christoph Wiederkehr focused on current developments in education policy as well as shared challenges and issues in the field of education. The exchange also provided an opportunity to strengthen the close cooperation between Liechtenstein and Austria and to share experiences. Following this, Ambassador Simon Biederman hosted a discussion with experts on the topic of “Digitalization and Education” to mark Minister Daniel Oehry’s visit. The discussion centered on current challenges and opportunities in the digital world—particularly cybersecurity, disinformation, and deepfakes—as well as digitalization in the education sector.

During the meeting with Austrian Minister of Infrastructure Peter Hanke, the discussion centered on infrastructure and mobility issues, as well as shared concerns and challenges in the cross-border context. Other key topics of the conversation included the Rhine Valley transportation model and the railway. This provided an opportunity to foster direct dialogue and further strengthen cooperation between Liechtenstein and Austria.

In the evening, the traditional Liechtenstein reception took place at the Gartenpalais Liechtenstein, which serves to foster relations with representatives from politics, business, the media, public life, diplomacy, and the senior civil service. Minister Daniel Oehry and staff members of the Liechtenstein administration represented Liechtenstein at the reception.
