Deputy Prime Minister Sabine Monauni traveled to Vienna on Friday, 23 May 2025 for an inaugural visit. There she met Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, European Affairs Minister Claudia Plakolm and OSCE Secretary General Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu for working meetings.
Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger received Foreign Minister Sabine Monauni for an exchange on foreign policy issues. The talks focused on current issues relating to European policy, Liechtenstein's 30th anniversary as a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), the war in Ukraine and current security policy issues. The meeting was also used to discuss the deepening of bilateral relations between Austria and Liechtenstein.
Liechtenstein's Foreign Minister exchanged views with Minister for Europe Claudia Plakolm on bilateral and regional opportunities for cooperation on European issues and on challenges for the EEA. The talk also focused on strengthening European security and defense capabilities as well as Europe's economic security.
The working meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu, focused on the current security situation in Europe and the role of the OSCE. The main topics were the war in Ukraine and the contribution that the OSCE can make to the security of its member states.
