Disinformation, media literacy and the role of journalism are at the heart of the European youth event “Youth Facing Disinformation – Why Journalists Matter”, taking place in Strasbourg on 9–10 November 2026.
The Council of Europe will bring together 46 young people from its member States. Young people from Liechtenstein aged 18 to 30 are also invited to take part. Together with journalists, media experts, researchers and policymakers, participants will discuss current challenges linked to disinformation, freedom of expression and the safety of journalists.
The programme includes a conference at the Palais de l’Europe as well as interactive workshops at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg.
The call is particularly relevant for young journalists, students, content creators, youth leaders and young people active in youth or civil society organisations.
Travel, accommodation and meals will be covered by the Council of Europe.
