To prospective female patent attorneys: Apply now for the Candidate Support Program at the EPO - 2027-2029

If you would like to become a European Patent Attorney, you have the opportunity to be supported on the way to the
the European qualifying examination (EEP).

The Candidate Support Program (CSP) is an initiative of the European Patent Office (EPO) in cooperation
with member states of the European Patent Organization. Liechtenstein is also participating for the first time.

The Office of Economic Affairs can:

  • select up to two candidates for comprehensive CSP support. It includes high-quality
    Training courses, coaching by experienced European patent attorneys and financial support; and
    Support;

    or

  • nominate up to three candidates for full coverage of EEP fees. This includes
    the registration fee and examination fees for all five EEP examinations (one examination attempt each).

The aim is to specifically promote women in the patent world in Liechtenstein. The CSP can be essential for
successful preparation for the European Patent Qualifying Examination.

Who can take part:

You can participate if you live and/or work in Liechtenstein and are willing to
participate in a three-year preparation program, which runs as follows:

Task F in 2027
Tasks M1 and M2 in 2028
Tasks M3 and M4 in 2029

Please submit your application online to the EPO. Please note that this
Online form is only accessible until May 31, 2026 (18:00).

For the application you need:

  • a curriculum vitae
  • a confirmation of residence
  • a letter of motivation
  • a letter of recommendation from your employer
  • Proof of registration for the European aptitude test 2027 task F

The online form is only available in English. The letter of motivation
and the employer's letter of recommendation can also be submitted in German.
The confirmation of residence should not be older than six months.

Candidates are selected by the Office of Economic Affairs.

Important dates

  • Application deadline: May 31, 2026
  • Selection decision: by July 10, 2026
  • Program start (i.e. training and coaching): October 2026
  • First exam (task F): March 1, 2027
