Below we, the Office of Civil Engineering and Geoinformation, as the responsible body, inform you in accordance with Art. 13 and Art. 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) about the manner and background of the processing of your personal data in connection with the use of the geodata portal.

Scope of application
This privacy policy applies to the geodata portal of the state administration (geodaten.llv.li, map.geo.llv.li, oereb.llv.li, models.geo.llv.li) and to the personal data collected via this website. For websites of other providers to which reference is made, e.g. via links, the data protection notices and declarations there apply.
Categories of personal data collected
Each time the geodata portal is accessed and files are transferred, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the accessing computer. The following data is collected:
- Full IP address of the requesting computer;
- Date and time of access;
- Name of the requested file;
- Page from which the file was requested;
- Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.);
- Web browser and operating system used;
- Amount of data transferred.
If you subscribe to the geodata infrastructure newsletter or have a user account on the geodata portal, we also record your:
- E-mail address;
- Title, first name, surname (optional).
To set up user accounts, our employees collect the following information:
- Surname and first name or company name
- E-mail address
- possibly an initialization password (for setting up a user account).
- possibly the address for invoicing (for the purchase of chargeable services)
- possibly a telephone number for queries (for the purchase of chargeable services)
You can change passwords yourself at any time using the "Change password" function. Our employees do not have access to the passwords you use.
Purposes of processing
The processing of personal data on our website is limited to the data required for access control and to provide a functional website and user-friendly content and services. In particular, we therefore collect personal data on our website for internal administrative purposes (e.g. ensuring the stability and operational security of the system, for sending our newsletter).
Matomo web analysis tool
We analyze the use of our website with the open source web analysis tool Matomo (formerly Piwik; privacy policy can be found at https://matomo.org/privacy-policy/). However, the automatically collected IP addresses are anonymized before analysis. All analyses created are therefore based on anonymized data records and no personal evaluation takes place. Web analysis is used exclusively to optimize the website in terms of user-friendliness and to provide useful information about our services. This data is not merged with other personal data sources or passed on to third parties.
Cookies
We use cookies on our website to make our offer user-friendly (Matomo, see above) and for the authentication and authorization of users with extended access to the geodata portal. Cookies are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. The cookies remain stored until you delete them. This enables us to recognize your browser on your next visit.
If you do not want this, you can set up your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you allow them in individual cases. However, we would like to point out that deactivation may mean that you will not be able to use all the functions of our website.
Linking with external content
The content of the geodata portal is sometimes linked to external content on the Internet. By using these links, you may also access external content from the Internet that is not created or provided by the Office of Civil Engineering and Geoinformation. This includes in particular
- Links between geodata and documents from other offices
- the linking or integration of Google Streetview
- direct download link to linked geodata from the state's OGD portal (opendata.li)
This content is only called up if you actively access these offers. If, for example, you do not agree with the terms of use of the target pages (e.g. Google Street View), we recommend that you do not use the direct links or the corresponding tools in the geodata portal.
Hosting
The web server for the operation of our website is technically maintained by the Office for Information Technology of the Liechtenstein National Administration.
Data security
When you visit our website, we use encrypted data communication based on SSL/TLS in conjunction with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the address bar of your browser.
In addition, we generally apply suitable technical and organizational security measures during data processing in order to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures correspond to the current state of the art.
