Statistics are important and exciting. But where do you get the information from and not steal it? Much is covered in Liechtenstein via registers or administrative data, but when it comes to assessments of the population, this information is only available via a survey. Questionnaires are annoying, cost time and have no personal added value. The fewer surveys are conducted, the lower the burden on the individual and the higher the response rate and the more meaningful the results. To ensure that not everyone has to answer all the questions, sample surveys are a tried and tested means of reducing the burden of surveys. However, in a country with a small population of 40,000 people like Liechtenstein, even sample surveys have strict limits.
