A total of 41,987 motor vehicles and 4,189 trailers were on the road on June 30, 2023. In the previous year, there were 41,631 motor vehicles and 4,169 trailers.

The number of passenger cars registered by the Office for Road Traffic increased by 307 to 30,961 compared to the previous year. As in previous years, Volkswagen was by far the most common brand with 4,350 passenger cars, followed by Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota and Ford. By far the most frequently registered model is the Volkswagen Golf with 1,280 cars, followed by the VW Polo (705), Audi A3 (582) and Skoda Octavia (527).

18,213 passenger cars were petrol-powered vehicles. This makes petrol the most common fuel type with a share of around 59%. Diesel accounted for 29%, electric hybrids 8% and electric vehicles around 4%.
