Switzerland remains the first choice for students from Liechtenstein
In the 2023/24 academic year, 1,202 students from Liechtenstein attended a university of applied sciences or a university (excluding continuing education). The proportion of women was 50.2%.
Of the 1,202 students recorded, 861 (71.6%) attended a university in Switzerland. 186 students (15.5%) completed their studies in Austria, while 99 (8.2%) were registered in Liechtenstein and 56 (4.7%) in Germany.
The tertiary education institutions in Liechtenstein (excluding continuing education) were attended by 758 students in the 2023/24 academic year. The proportion of women here was 39.8%.
At the time of enrolment, 265 of the 758 students were resident in Austria, 195 in Germany and 149 in Switzerland. There were 99 students living in Liechtenstein itself, while 50 were resident in other countries.
