Winter season 2025/26 - Alpine hotels record decline in overnight stays
In the 2025/26 winter season (November 2025 to April 2026), Liechtenstein hotels recorded a total of 41,033 guest arrivals and 73,286 overnight stays. Compared to the same period last year, this corresponds to an increase of 11.8% in guest arrivals and a decrease of 4.1% in overnight stays. With a 32.3% share of overnight stays, Switzerland was the most important country of origin (country of residence) for guests.
58,638 overnight stays were booked at hotels in the Rhine Valley during the 2025/26 winter season. This represents an increase of 29.2% compared to the same period last year. The Alpenhotels in Steg and Malbun recorded 14,648 overnight stays. This represents a 52.8% decrease in overnight stays compared to the previous year. This decrease is due to a lower number of open establishments in the Alpine region and therefore fewer beds and rooms available.
