State Consumer Price Index for August 2026

Consumer prices rose by 0.4% in August

The National Consumer Price Index (LIK) rose by 0.4% in August 2026 compared to the previous month, reaching 101.5 points (December 2025 = 100). Compared to the same month of the previous year, inflation was +0.8%. This is according to figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). The Swiss National Consumer Price Index is adopted monthly by the Office of Statistics in Liechtenstein.

The 0.4% increase compared to the previous month is attributable to various factors, including higher residential rents. Prices for gasoline, diesel, heating oil, and inpatient hospital services also rose. By contrast, prices for package tours abroad, as well as for car rentals and car-sharing, have fallen, as have prices in the non-hotel accommodation sector.
