The 1,212 street names in Liechtenstein are a colorful mix of names in High German, dialect or a combination of the two. But can the street names be statistically analyzed based on their meaning? It was worth a try - but not an easy task, as the meaning was not always recognizable at first or even second glance. To this end, the street names were categorized as best as possible using the following 10 categories: Women's names, men's names, family names, occupational names, plants, animals, Agriculture terms, infrastructure and buildings, landscape features and abstract terms. There were also some names for which no meaning could be determined or which did not fit into the categories.
