From Tuesday, November 18 to Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the National Road Office (NRO) will be holding the second online auction of number plates. As with the successful launch in August 2025, interested parties can register on the platform and bid.

The first e-auction went smoothly and was met with great interest from the public: a total of over 330 bids were received from around 300 registered users and all the number plates on offer were successfully auctioned off. With a total amount of CHF 113,300 and a maximum bid of CHF 16,500, the Office can look back on a very pleasing first implementation.

Based on this positive experience and feedback, the ASV has further optimized the e-auction process. In future, the auctions will be held over a period of two to three weeks. Four to five auctions are planned per year, each with around five control plates for motor vehicles and additional motorcycle plates to coincide with the start of the season in spring.

Now, towards the end of the year, the following plates are being offered for auction: FL 4053, FL 5914, FL 6394, FL 7907, FL 9703

Interested parties can register on the platform and bid. Users who have already registered will receive a corresponding notification via newsletter - provided they have subscribed to it.

Head of Office Thomas Banzer was impressed by the service and the system: "Thanks to the digital solution, we were able to conduct the auction completely online for the first time, regardless of time and place. The system has proven itself both technically and organizationally. According to feedback, the user-friendliness and transparency of the bidding process were particularly appreciated."
