Schools of Superheroes: Education in children's hospitals in Ukraine

Liechtenstein provides CHF 70,000 to the Olena Zelenska Foundation for the project “Schools of Superheroes”.

The so-called “Schools of Superheroes” are modern educational facilities in children's hospitals in Ukraine. They offer children who have to stay in hospital for a long time due to long-term treatment or rehabilitation the opportunity to continue their education. The Schools of Superheroes also promote children's mental health and provide psychosocial support.

The schools are there for children with cancer, children with rare diseases and children who have undergone organ transplants, among others. Since the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine, children who have suffered injuries from mine explosions have also been taught in the Schools of Superheroes during their recovery.

With the Liechtenstein contribution, Olena Zelenska can set up a School of Superheroes in a children's hospital in Lviv and thus enable the children to attend school while they are in hospital.
