The majority of Liechtenstein's industrial and service companies rate the general situation as satisfactory. The business situation and profitability remained largely stable in the 1st quarter of 2026, and the number of employees is also rated as stable.

Insufficient demand (21%), a shortage of labor (13%) and financing bottlenecks (6%) were identified as key obstacles for Liechtenstein's Economic Affairs Division. At the same time, 39% of the industrial and service companies surveyed stated that they had not encountered any obstacles in the first quarter of 2026. A more differentiated analysis shows that industrial companies are primarily affected by insufficient demand (24%), while service companies are dominated by a shortage of labor (25%).

Liechtenstein's industrial and service companies continue to expect stable development in the second quarter of 2026. The respondents forecast an unchanged business situation and profitability as well as a stable workforce. There are different trends in their forecasts. While the service sectors expect hardly any changes, industry is anticipating a decline in staff numbers with a simultaneous increase in incoming orders.
