Reporting of location for the burding of Funken

According to Art. 46 of the Environmental Protection Act, LGBl. 2008 No. 199, municipalities designate areas for burning fires on Funken Sunday. Burning Funken outside of these areas designated by the municipalities is considered a violation of the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act.

Funken guilds and groups wishing to burn a Funken on Funken Sunday must notify the municipal administration, stating the name of the operator group, a contact person, and the location of the Funken. The municipalities decide on the approval of the Funken location and report the details to the Office for the Environment.

Only dry, natural wood may be used as fuel for Funken. In particular, wood waste and scrap wood from construction sites, wood from building demolitions, pallets, etc., as well as heating oil, diesel, or gasoline as firelighters are not permitted. If you have any questions, please contact the Office for the Environment.
