In 2023, the 11 banking institutions in Liechtenstein achieved a good result overall. For example, the banking institutions recorded higher profits, a net inflow of new money and an increase in the number of employees in Liechtenstein.
The result from ordinary activities more than doubled compared to the previous year and amounted to CHF 573.5 million in 2023. The banks recorded a net new money inflow of CHF 4.7 billion in the past financial year and managed client assets of CHF 191.6 billion as at 31 December 2023. The number of employees in Liechtenstein increased by 170 to 2,869 full-time and part-time employees as at the end of 2023. Total assets of the banking institutions operating in Liechtenstein amounted to CHF 81.5 billion as at December 31, 2023, a decrease of CHF 3.4 billion or 4.0% compared to the previous year.
