Planned investments remain at a low level

In the 4th quarter of 2024, the Office of Building Construction and Spatial Planning issued 125 building permits with planned construction costs totaling CHF 51.6 million. Compared to the average for the comparative period, which covers the previous three years or 12 quarters, the number of approvals is below average and the planned construction costs remain low. The number of projects was 40% below the average for the comparative period, while planned construction costs were 57% below the average for the comparative period.

In the quarter under review, planned investments increased by CHF 3.7 million to CHF 51.6 million compared to Q3 2024. This is the fourth-lowest figure in the last 12 quarters. In the Infrastructure (-92%) and Industry and Services (-76%) segments, planned construction costs were significantly below the average for the same period of the previous year. In the residential sector, planned construction costs were 37% below the average for the comparative period.
