Decrease in overnight stays

In 2025, Liechtenstein's accommodation establishments (hotels, vacation apartments, youth hostels, dormitories and camping) recorded a total of 121,596 guest arrivals and 219,038 overnight stays. Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 0.8% in guest arrivals and a decrease of 4.2% in overnight stays. With a 30.6% share of overnight stays, Switzerland was the most important country of origin (country of residence) for guests.

75.5% of overnight stays were recorded in the hotel industry in 2025. The hotel industry recorded 165,321 overnight stays. This is 8.0% less than in the previous year, which is due to a lower number of open establishments in the Alpine region and therefore fewer available beds and rooms.

Of the 165,321 overnight stays recorded in the hotel industry, 40,946 overnight stays were attributable to the Alpine hotels in Steg and Malbun. 124,375 overnight stays were recorded by hotels in the Rhine Valley.
