Lifting of the regulation of broadband access

The Office for Communications is lifting the regulation of broadband access (full designation: "centrally provided access to wholesale broadband connections for mass market products at fixed locations") without a transitional period.

The market analysis shows that the end customer market for internet broadband connections at a fixed location is competitive even without regulation of broadband access at wholesale level, due to the regulation of access to the physical network infrastructure of Liechtensteinische Kraftwerke. Regulation of broadband access at the wholesale level is therefore no longer necessary and the existing measures must be lifted accordingly.

You can find out more about the market analysis procedure on the website of the Office for Communications (www.ak.llv.li) under the heading Electronic Communications in: Market analyses and special regulation / Current status / Central broadband access for mass market (2024; ESA2016-M3b).
