Afghanistan faces one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world. A contribution of CHF 100,000 from Liechtenstein aims to alleviate suffering and promote stability.
With over 3.22 million internally displaced persons and 5.53 million refugees in neighbouring countries, Afghanistan is confronting immense challenges. Women, children, and people with disabilities are particularly vulnerable and in urgent need of assistance. The UNHCR has provided critical support to more than one million people in 2024, offering life-saving aid and essential services. However, 65% of funding requirements remain unmet. Liechtenstein's contribution is a powerful gesture of solidarity, addressing urgent needs and supporting regional stability.
