Liechtenstein is supporting UNICEF's humanitarian work in Lebanon with a contribution of CHF 100,000.
Despite the negotiated ceasefire, the humanitarian situation in Lebanon remains critical at the end of 2024 The humanitarian crisis in Lebanon has worsened further in 2024. More than one million people – children and families – have fled the violence and are faced with destroyed homes and damaged social infrastructures when they return. Natural disasters such as floods and droughts as well as political instability are further exacerbating the situation. Millions of people lack clean water, food and access to medical care. Children in particular are affected by malnutrition and psychological stress.
With Liechtenstein's contribution, UNICEF is providing life-saving emergency aid in Lebanon. The focus is on providing food, clean water and basic relief supplies as well as protecting children from violence and promoting education. UNICEF remains an indispensable actor in alleviating the suffering of the affected children and giving them a perspective.
