Digital e-Driving License by the Principality of Liechtenstein - Information for other authorities
Since 19. Mai 2022, the digital Driver's License in Liechtenstein is accepted in conjunction with the eID Liechtenstein for identification purposes. Further information with regards to eID.li see Link.
The relevant Traffic Licensing Ordinance (Verkehrszulassungsverordnung (short: VZV)) was adapted within Liechtstein’s law and regulation framework. Thus, digital eDriving License holders have no longer to carry a paper or plastic Driving License as proof of being legally allowed to drive a motor vehicle in Liechtenstein road traffic. The digital version is equivalent to the actual physical document, i.e. analog equals digital. Registration and use of the digital ID platform is taking place via the state electronic identity solution eID.li. The digital eDriving License on the smartphone, which can be used on a voluntary basis, is customer friendly and also facilitates the verification of a person’s valid admission to road traffic. Thank you for recognizing the digital edriving license.
