Consumer prices rose by 0.2% in March
The national consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.2% in March 2026 compared to the previous month, reaching 100.8 points (December 2025 = 100). Compared to the same month of the previous year, inflation was +0.3%. These are the figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). The Swiss consumer price index is published monthly by the Office of Statistics for Liechtenstein.
The increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month is due to various factors, including higher prices for heating oil and package tours abroad. Prices for air travel, petrol and diesel also rose. By contrast, prices in the hotel and parahotel industry have fallen, as have those for car rental and car sharing.
