The national consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.1% in August 2025 compared to the previous month, reaching 107.7 points (December 2020 = 100). Compared to the same month of the previous year, inflation was +0.2%. This is according to figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). The Swiss consumer price index is published monthly by the Office of Statistics for Liechtenstein.
The decline of 0.1% compared to the previous month is due to various factors, including lower prices for package tours abroad, the para-hotel industry and air travel. Rents for private transportation also fell. Residential rents, on the other hand, rose, as did prices for clothing and shoes.
