Low investment intentions in the 4th quarter
In the 4th quarter of 2025, the Office of Building Construction and Spatial Planning issued 145 building permits with planned construction costs totaling CHF 86.8 million. Compared to the previous three years or 12 quarters (comparative period), the number of permits remains low and the planned construction costs are below the average of the last 12 quarters. The number of projects was 24% and the planned construction costs were 27% below the average for the comparative period.
In the quarter under review, planned investments fell by CHF 62.4 million to CHF 86.8 million compared to Q3 2025. Compared to the last three years, investment intentions in the quarter under review were below average. Planned construction costs in the Infrastructure segment were 96% below the average for the comparable period of the last 12 quarters. In the residential sector, planned construction costs were 6% and in the industry and services sector 42% below the average for the comparative period. In the agriculture and forestry sector, planned investments fell from CHF 3.6 million in Q3 2025 to CHF 0.2 million in the quarter under review.
