Investment intentions continue to rise
In the third quarter of 2025, the Office of Building Construction and Spatial Planning issued 158 building permits with planned construction costs totaling CHF 149.2 million. Compared to the previous three years or 12 quarters (comparative period), the number of permits remains low, but the planned construction costs continue to increase and are above the average of the last 12 quarters. The number of projects was 23% below the average for the comparative period and the planned construction costs were 29% above the average for the comparative period.
In the quarter under review, planned investments increased by CHF 28.1 million to CHF 149.2 million compared to Q2 2025. Compared to the last three years, investment intentions in the quarter under review were above average. Planned construction costs in the Infrastructure segment were 62% below the average for the comparable period of the last 12 quarters. In the residential sector, planned construction costs were 59% above the average for the comparative period and in the industry and services sector they were 2% above the average for the comparative period. In the agriculture and forestry sector, planned investments rose from CHF 2.6 million to CHF 3.6 million.
