The asylum figures for 2022 were influenced by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. 73 asylum seekers and temporarily admitted persons were still registered on 1 January 2022. Over the course of the year, 80 applications for Asylum Division and 504 applications for protection were submitted. During the same period, however, 104 asylum seekers and 105 persons in need of protection left the country. As a result, the number of registered asylum seekers, temporarily admitted persons and persons in need of protection increased by 375 to 448 persons as at December 31, 2022.
