The asylum figures for 2023 continued to be influenced by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. 448 asylum seekers, persons in need of protection and temporarily admitted persons were still registered on 1 January 2023. Over the course of the year, 89 applications for Asylum Division and 303 applications for protection were submitted. Overall, the number of registered asylum seekers, temporarily admitted persons and persons in need of protection increased by 187 to 635 persons as at December 31, 2023.
