3,547 schoolchildren in compulsory schooling

In the 2024/25 school year, there were 4,852 schoolchildren in general education (kindergarten to upper secondary level) in Liechtenstein. This is 34 fewer schoolchildren than in the 2023/24 school year. The number of school classes remained the same as in the previous year at 290. Of the 4,852 schoolchildrenin the 2024/25 school year , 95.7% attended a public school and 4.3% a private school.

According to the results of the Office of Statistics, there were 3,547 schoolchildren in compulsory schooling (elementary school and lower secondary level) in Liechtenstein in the 2024/25 school year. In the previous year, there were 3,552 schoolchildren.

A total of 895 people were employed at public and private schools in Liechtenstein, 92.5% of whom belonged to the teaching staff category. School management staff accounted for 3.4%. 4.1% were allocated to other school staff, including school secretaries and school social workers. The overall proportion of female school staff was 73.9%.
