In the 2023 reporting year, a total of 5,571 companies with 36,470 employees (full-time equivalents (FTEs)) and a total payroll of CHF 3,167.4 million were insured with the 8 active accident insurers. The number of registered companies and the insured payroll increased by 3.7% and 3.9% respectively compared to the previous year. The number of insured employees (FTE) increased by 1.0%.
A total of 6,456 accidents were registered with insurers in 2023. This figure is 4.1% below the previous year's value and a ratio of 177 is calculated per 1,000 insured employees. This is the lowest value in the time series since 2004 and the same as in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
