Today's number day provides updated data on how many new fossil fuel firing systems are installed and how many are replaced by fossil fuel firing systems, i.e. installed as so-called replacement systems.
The results of the evaluation of the combustion register of the Office for the Environment show a trend towards more environmentally friendly heating systems, as the number of new and replacement systems installed and operated with fossil fuels is declining. The register records fires that burn fossil fuels such as natural gas or heating oil for heating purposes. The register is recorded and updated as part of the annual fire inspections. Replacements of fossil heating systems with new technologies, such as heat pumps or district heating, cannot be recorded on the basis of the data recorded in the fire register.
