Other installations / Other measures

the purpose of "Other installations and other measures" is to support the efficient use of energy and promote the use of renewable energies. In particular, the degree of environmental impact, the use of renewable energies, the degree of self-sufficiency, energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness and the exemplary effect are taken into account in the assessment.

Subsidies of up to CHF 400,000 can be granted for the construction of "Other installations and other measures". In particular, the degree of environmental impact, the use of renewable energies, the degree of self-sufficiency, energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness and the exemplary effect are taken into account in the assessment. The decision is made by the Energy Commission.

Other installations

"Other installations" are large installations, such as large wood chip firing systems, which serve the purpose of the Energy Efficiency Act in a special way. These are, for example, building services installations from 1,750 m2 EBF or photovoltaic systems from 250 kWp. The decision on this is made by the Energy Commission.

Other measures

"Other measures" funding application (PDF), 01.09.2025

"Other measures" serve the purpose of this Act (EEG) and/or an energy strategy adopted by the government (e.g. Energy Strategy 2020) in a special way, in particular energy consulting, increasing electricity efficiency in large buildings or efficiency programs.

  • Individual measures (e.g. LED conversion)

Individual measures include, for example, the replacement of lighting (LED) or circulation pumps, industrial motors, process steam systems, but also commercial waste heat recovery.

  • Refurbishment consulting

The procedure analysis and consultation for a potential refurbishment of buildings and building services systems is subsidized.

  • Remote heating control

Remote heating control systems for existing, purely vacation homes in Alpine regions are subsidized.

  • Impulse program for line expansion

On 31.08.2021, the Energy Commission passed a resolution to extend the line expansion impulse program outside the construction zone beyond the set framework of 1 MWp in connection with photovoltaic systems. The Energy Commission is promoting the expansion of lines outside the building zone as part of an impulse program until further notice without a direct power limit:

  • The decisive factor for the assessment is the receipt of the application.
  • The aim of the impulse program is the further construction of large PV systems to achieve the goals of the Energy Strategy 2030.
  • Subsidies for line expansion can be applied for under "Other installations and other measures". The maximum contribution is capped at CHF 400/kWp of additional PV capacity, as the aim is to achieve the best possible cost/benefit ratio. An existing system is not taken into account when calculating the output.
  • The subsidy is based on the proven eligible costs incurred for the line extension due to the installation of an additional PV system.
  • The PV systems themselves can be subsidized separately according to the applicable subsidy rates
